Who Are We?

We are a faith-based, grassroots, nonpartisan organization that welcomes everyone who seeks to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with God and others while promoting policies that foster equity, diversity, and inclusion—affirming the value and dignity of all. PP&J is a result of my personal journey of awakening to systemic injustice over the past decade. 

  • Looking Ahead
    Wednesday Protests September 16, 23, 30: We will gather at the Civic Center from 5-6:30 pm and encourage you to urge people to Vote for Change. I will create a few signs with this theme. We will continue these protests in October.  Saturday, September 12: Opening of the Oceanside Democratic Office, 401 Coast Highway, Suite 110 (2 doors north of The Brown Cup).   • PolicE Reform
    We believe the policies and procedures of government agencies can foster or erode community trust and thus community involvement. And so we work to support and partner with others to create compassionate policies that affirm the worth and dignity of all people. One of our focuses for PP&J is the local reform of the Oceanside Police Department (OPD), which is ongoing. You can see what we have done on our What We Do (Part 1) page.   • Good Trouble Live On:JOIN US
    Saturday, July 18, from 10-11:45 am at the Oceanside Civic Center. The protest is entitled Good Trouble Lives On (I am a John Lewis fan). We will once again collect non-perishable food items to help those dealing with food insecurity in our community. We will have a short optional march, children’s tables with coloring and stickers, and stand along Coast Hwy with our signs.   • Save These Dates
    Save the date (upcoming protests) Sunday, June 14, from 1:30 PM – 3:15 PM at the Otay Mesa ICE Detention Protest, 7488 Calzada de la Fuente, San Diego. We gather to remind those being detained that they are not forgotten and to demonstrate our resistance to this method of treating people who live and work in our country.
