Welcome!

Thank you for visiting the PP&J website. This is a work in progress. We are working to create a site that highlights what we believe are necessary reforms for the city of Oceanside and seek your help as desires and plans become actions. Please feel free to contact us with your thoughts on reforms, any questions, or suggestions you may have. This is a collective effort, not just an individual one.

As one who believes in the power of our God of the fish and loaves, multiplying our meager offerings, and our call to be Salt & Light, I found the following to be encouraging, even inspiring;

“It is not given to us to know which acts or by whom, will cause the critical mass to tip toward an enduring good. What is needed for dramatic change is an accumulation of acts, adding, adding to, adding more, continuing. We know that it does not take everyone on Earth to bring justice and peace, but only a small, determined group who will not give up during the first, second, or hundredth gale.”

—Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes

As those who love God and are called to love others, to hunger and thirst for justice, let us continue to get into good and necessary trouble—standing up, showing up and speaking up—depending on God to bless, break and multiply our actions, knowing the universe arcs toward restorative justice and Love wins.

  1. I love the work so far. The mission statement is uplifting, aspirational, and inspirational, and yet at the same time defines the work as a series of LOCAL, focused, concrete acts.

    There is a song called “All the Small Things” by Blink 182 is my current theme song – it’s used by the Padres to share with the fans their approach to baseball – doing the small things every day – helping each other – staying focused — you know, keep your eye on the prize. (Or in the case of the Padres – keep your eye on the ball.)

    Let’s keep doing the small things and we will build the momentum to turn our ship of state back onto the path towards the light.
    AND maybe the Padres will win the World Series following this positive approach to getting “stuff” done.

    With great love, and respect,
    Shelley Pineo-Jensen, Ph.D.

  2. I am just beginning to attend in Oceanside and Carlsbad. Have been going to other areas at least weekly though. Thanks to all of you who care about our country and freedom.
